Greeting the Winds of Change with Ease and Grace
A Yin Candlelight Ceremony for Fall Equinox
Friday, September 22nd
6:30 – 8:30 pm at Body Yoga Roseville, CA

Join James and KristaLove for a yin yoga ceremony to honor the season of autumn. Come celebrate bounty in your life, while appreciating your own willingness to grow and cultivate balance, by letting the seasons move through you. This practice will be centered around the throat and shoulders with focus on navigating through transitions with clear intentions and compassionate communication.

Autumn is a time of movement and change. With so much in flux, it can be easy to feel dried out or overwhelmed, so it is increasingly important to know how to flow. Like the natural world around us, we must shed, purify and cleanse to allow for sukha, or good space, to exist in the body and to experience lightness, grace and ease. Shorter daylight hours can provide a chance to integrate the experiences, exploration and expressions of summer, while letting go of what no longer serves us. In this time of shedding, it is important to remember your wholeness, create space to nourish yourself and know you are inherently divine.

Join James for a practice of intuitive expression, self reliance and sovereignty. As humans, we all face challenges of guilt and shame, fear and doubt. As a result, culture and ego work full time to distract us from this suffering with toys and idols, competition and accomplishments, gurus and false gods, all resulting in some form of debt and indentured servitude. Through all this distraction, it can be easy to lose sight of your truth and purpose, and our shared reality and interbeing. Come explore through movement and community how to create clear emotional and psychological boundaries with interpersonal communication and agreements. Support your Self worth with Self love, and find the freedom to be the fully embodied divine being you are!

Sunday, September 24th

1 – 4 pm at Sol Flow Yoga – Cameron Park, CA

Yin yoga is a transformational practice that supports mindful awareness of one’s physical, energetic, emotional and mental equilibrium. Poses are held for an extended time with relaxed muscles and deep breathing, allowing the body to soften and the postures to stimulate connective tissues, i.e. fascia and ligament, as well as affect bone density, joint mobility, and the overall health of the internal organs.

This workshop will introduce you to the theory and practice of Yin yoga, Taoism, Chinese Medicine, modern meridian theory and the energy body. Join James and KristaLove for an exploration into individual range of motion, and learn how to personalize yin postures with props and modifications for your unique body. You will practice yin yoga to personally apply the discussion, and leave with a greater awareness of breath and body mechanics to support a lifelong practice that can be applied to all forms of yoga.

6:30 – 8:30 pm at Ohana Moon Yoga – Cameron Park, CA

Because our shadow self is associated with darker characteristics, such as shame and anger, it is often avoided out of fear. However, by befriending and embracing your inner darkness it becomes less scary and more a place of silent nurturance, providing you a safe space for exploration on your journey towards Self-love and living authentically. When you pay attention to your dreams and visions, and choose to witness your judgments and projections, you can uncover your subconscious tendencies and integrate them a soul level. Join James for this yin yoga ceremony of deep listening and the allowance of healing through shadow work.

1 – 5 pm at Sol Flow Yoga Studio – Cameron Park, CA

Experience the bliss of using your hands to serve others through conscious touch. This practice of presence and acceptance necessitates seeing and supporting the goodness in another, rather than trying to change or fix.

Join James and KristaLove for an immersion to explore how to safely and effectively assist yin poses, while maintaining personal body awareness. Participants will work collaboratively to give and receive while learning and discussing how different assists feel. This interactive workshop offers the opportunity to examine what makes a great assist. We will incorporate practices of Thai Yoga Massage and stimulate Chinese Meridians with pressure points to facilitate the flow of energy through the body.
